re: Guild Rank Structure and Expectations

Postby Tempestas_ on Thu Feb 26, 2009 11:52 pm
Please notice how the ranks are intertwined. One builds on the other. For example, the “Knights” are not a separate clique. They are members who raid. Because they raid, additional requirements are necessary to make our raids successful. First and foremost, “Knights” are “Members”. I like to compare the “Knights” to National Guardsmen – citizen soldiers.

The guild officers (Templars) can be either Knights or Members. One does not have to consistently raid in order to effectively guide this guild..

Guild Rankings – Their definition and expectations

Possible Hack
This “rank” is a sad but necessary precaution. Any account that is suspected to have been hacked or maliciously used by someone other than the owner will be placed here. This rank has no access to the guild bank or guild chat channel.

Inactive
This rank is for players who have temporarily stepped away from the game but want to remain in the guild. A character will be placed in the appropriate rank upon his/her return. This rank has no access to the guild bank, but does have access to the guild chat channel.

Initiate
This rank represents all new members recently accepted into the guild. Initiates have access to the guild chat channel. They have no access to the guild bank.
Responsibilities and Expectations of this rank are:
 Familiarization with all guild practices and policies
 Read the forums frequently
 Meet and get to know your fellow guild mates
 Participate in instances/heroics with guild mates as desired
 Determine if Voracity as a guild is a good fit
 Do not use inappropriate language in open, guild or general
chat channels

Member (and Member-Alt)
This rank is for general guild members who do not wish to attend raids on a regular basis. Purely casual players are found here as well as those who would join a raid on occasion. Members have access to the guild chat channel as well as the common guild bank tabs. Members can withdraw two stacks of items per bank tab per day as well as deposit into the guild bank.
Responsibilities and Expectations of this rank are:
 All Expectations and Responsibilities of the Initiate Rank
 Enjoy the fellowship of your fellow guild mates
 Introduce yourself to new initiates and get to know them
 Be respectful of other guild mates when posting on the website
or using guild chat
 Check the website and in-game calendar often for upcoming
events
 Uphold all guild principles and core values
 Participate in raids as desired

Knight
This rank is for members that wish to participate in raids on a regular basis. The only requirement of this rank, as dictated by the game, is to be maximum level. Knights have access to the guild chat channel as well as the common guild bank tabs. Knights can withdraw four stacks of items per bank tab per day as well as deposit into the guild bank.
Responsibilities and Expectations of this rank are:
 All Expectations and Responsibilities of the Member Rank
 Know your class.
 Study talent trees, gem types and enchants for the raid spec
you will specialize in
 Seek to run pre 10-man instances and quests to obtain the
optimum gear
 Be open to suggestions and possibly change certain talents,
gems, enchants or gear
 Listen to raid instructions
 Research boss fights
 Be prepared to receive raid invites at the appointed time
 Have all necessary food buffs, reagents and armor repaired
ahead of time
 Do not spam or ask to see DPS “Recount” tables in open chat
channels

Knight-Commander
This rank represents members who have proven their ability to consistently contribute to the success of a raid through their knowledge and skill. These members are not necessarily “class officers” but often will possess insight to their class and possibly others. Knight-Commanders have access to the guild chat channel as well as the common guild bank tabs and one additional tab. Knight-Commanders can withdraw four stacks of items per bank tab per day as well as deposit into the guild bank.

Responsibilities and Expectations of this rank are:
 All Expectations and Responsibilities of the Knight Rank
 Assist a Knight in determining optimum gear, talent specs,
gems and enchants for their class
 Be an example for all guild members as to proper guild
etiquette, attitude and ability
 Assist raid leaders as necessary with raid coordination
 Maintain gems, and enchants as appropriate when gear
upgrades occur
 Assist with the determination of whether an initiate should
become a full member

Templar
These are the guild officers. They have access to all guild chat channel s as well as all guild bank tabs. It is noted that a Templar does not have to be a raid Knight or Knight-Commander. A Templar can withdraw unlimited stacks of items per bank tab per day and deposit into the guild bank. They can invite, remove and promote members.

Responsibilities and Expectations of this rank are:
 Guide the guild in general based on its core principles
 Communicate, communicate, communicate
 Be a resource for all guild ranks. If you do not have an
immediate answer, own the issue and find those that can
resolve it.
 Coordinate “official” guild raids/functions as needed
